Did you know that with the energy produced by the mall, one would be able to travel 66 450 km in an electric car?!
The Grove Mall of Namibia, or otherwise known as “the Grove” expands over a gigantic 18 000m2 of roof space. The solar PV plant consists of an impressive 8600 PV modules! The mall itself takes over a 52 089m² leasable area, which makes it the largest shopping centre in the country. In order to get such a large project off the ground, Sustainable Power Solutions needed to obtain a generation licence from the Electricity Control Board of Namibia.
In the first year of the solar PV plant’s life, the mall can roughly expect savings of 4855 MWh!
